A&B Lumber Company has introduced a line of building
products that are appropriate for the restoration of houses of the
colonial and post-colonial period, from 1780 to 1830. They are
marketed under the name A&B Historic Preservation
Materials.
The product line is equally useful for reproducing
rooms, details, or entire buildings in the style of this era, which
was one of the most refined and elegant periods of American
architecture. A&B’s products are largely fashioned from materials
identical to those used in the pre-industrial period. They
recapture the subtle proportions, contours, and textures of the age
of hand craftsmanship at a fraction of the cost of hand-made
reproductions. |
A&B’s specialty restoration products are based on
authenticated details from early New England houses, and on architectural
records, including the federal Historic American Buildings Survey, of
buildings that were destroyed many years ago.
A&B’s restoration products are intended to aid the dedicated homeowner in
preserving our irreplaceable architectural legacy without the need to
search for obscure sources and services, and without the expense of
commissioning custom reproductions. A&B has identified the materials and
products most commonly needed in building restoration, and has invested
the time and research to bring these resources to the discerning customer
at a reasonable price. |
